Verses of the month  : " Therefore ,since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every heavy weight and also sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Yeshua , the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary of fainthearted . Verse of the year : Isaiah 58:6-7
"Is not this the fast that I choose : to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the throngs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free and to break every yoke . Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him , and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? . Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring speedily ."

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 122: 6-9

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may they prosper those who love you.
Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces,
For the sake of my brethren...I will say:" may peace be within you.
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your Good."

What does it mean to pray for the peace of Jerusalem? The Bible explains to us that Peace is the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22). It is the outcome of a righteous life blessed by God ("Peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of God"). So we know that there cannot be peace without righteousness.
We also know that we cannot be righteous (having a right standing ) before God without the forgiveness of our sins. We also know that: there is no forgiveness of sins without the shed blood of the Perfect, once and for all, sacrificial Lamb of God, Yeshua of Nazareth, the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the world.
We then understand that the peace of Jerusalem can only come through Yeshua. "He is our peace". Then, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray for the inhabitants of Jerusalem to receive a spirit of grace and revelation and to be saved from their sins and be made righteous through the perfect gift of God, His only begotten son.
"And I will pour out upon the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of Grace and suplication: then they shall look on me whom they pierced. Yes they will mourn for Him as one grieves for a firstborn". (Zachariah 12:10)
Will you then pray for the Peace of Jerusalem?
